Family Beach Photo Sessions – Season Opener! South Shore MA Family Beach Photographer

We’ve reached consistent 50 degree weather, which means.. I started taking families outside for their family beach photo sessions for the season! We kicked off the first family beach session last week with a bang! We were able to take advantage of a 60 degree sunny evening, to capture the dreamiest light, and the most beautiful little family at the beach!
Outdoor Spring Sessions in New England – The Weather – Hingham Photographer
Spring weather in New England can be very difficult to try to hit right from an outdoor professional portrait photography standpoint. There is so much rain, and the weather can be very unpredictable, always changing on a dime, as it does in New England! There are pockets of time though that the sun is shining so bright, and we get some warm weather with that. THIS is what we want to jump on in the spring! It can be very annoying to have to move your session around because of rain. I even move sessions around if it’s very cloudy without rain. If you are paying for your photos, you deserve to get dreamy light. Even if that means moving your session date and time around, (if you are willing)! I always do my best to get my clients the absolute best weather for their sessions. Your flexibility as my clients is so appreciated! I will always accommodate clients who do not want to move their originally scheduled session around (if it’s not raining, and just cloudy), if that is their preference. I do always explain to my clients my recommendation for moving your session to get the best light and temperate for your family. The warmer (in the spring), the more comfortable everyone is! The sunnier the weather, the better your photos will come out!
Outdoor Spring Sessions in New England – Styling – Hingham Photographer
It can be hard to know what to wear to your outdoor family beach session in the Spring, because the weather can be so unpredictable, and everyone’s afraid to be cold! Unless my clients request otherwise, I don’t schedule outdoor sessions unless it’s at least 50 degrees (especially with little kids and babies)! This way, everyone is comfortable and happy for the session. I totally understand the uncertainly around what to wear for your Spring photo session. My advice to clients is wear what you would want to see yourself wearing in pictures in your house. Even if that means being a little bit cold in a dress for 30 minutes to an hour. You will thank yourself later when you have that dress on that you love so much, in your family photos. For kids my advice is the same but within reason. We of course do not want your kids and babies freezing for the session. I’m just advising that you push the limits a little bit with this regarding the temperature, to get the look you want style wise.
With five more outdoor family beach sessions coming up in the next week, I cannot wait to meet so many new faces and capture gorgeous images of you and your families at the beach!
